The Sunday Salon and Giveaway Winners

"Every Sunday the bloggers participating in that week's Salon get together--at their separate desks, in their own particular time zones--and read. And blog about their reading. And comment on one another's blogs. Think of it as an informal, weekly, mini read-a-thon, an excuse to put aside one's earthly responsibilities and fall into a good book. Join The Salon!"

This week I did not get a chance to read very much, I either worked or watched the kiddos who have been pretty hyper lately and up later than I am used to because of changing schedules. I have also apparently been trading one ailment for another for about a month now, and once I think something's clearing up I'm wrong.

But I did enjoy a Special cup of tea last night, direct from the UK as a Mom's Day present which had just arrived. I got a beautiful Bone china English tea set, and also a Tea Chest filled with assorted teas from Harrogate's.... just perfect for a one on one with a good book! Some yummy days ahead. I just adore tea, how about you? It makes me a frequent flier to the litrine but that is the only exercise I get so it's worth it.

This week, I posted a review on the newly released Paranormal Romance "Wild Highland Magic", and the author Kendra Leigh Castle stopped by to compose a Guest Post for us. If you visit the post and answer her question, you can be entered to win the book giveaway of "Wild Highland Magic".

Other than that, I had fun reading everyone else's blogs, it was a bit busier this week in the blogosphere so I hope I didn't miss something awesome! There was certainly a lot going on. Historical Fiction author C.W. Gortner's Book Blog Tour is still going on, you can see his guest post and the tour stops here.

I am currently reading "Burnt Shadows" by Kamila Shamsie, which was recently released in the USA and it is a very touching story spanning generations and features insights into WWII. I am taking this one slow so I can enjoy the drama of it, which is going to put me behind schedule but I really want to give it my undivided attention. The writing is quite descriptive and packs a punch, and can be inspiring and thoughtful to the reader. I would like to enjoy that.

I am going to post later today about participating in the 4 month Challenge, see Virginie's blog if you want to go check it out!

I don't want to steal anything so I am going to direct you over to Historically Obsessed to see her post on Today in History, the Execution of George Boleyn. Also see The Anne Boleyn Files here which goes into details about the others executed with him and the speeches. What a sad day in history!

Since it has been such yucky weather here and I've been cooped up in this house with two cabin-fevered kids who miss their friends at daycare.. I decided to post a Fun Follower Giveaway yesterday for The Girl Who Stopped Swimming, courtesy of Hachette. Of course this is another book that has been around the blogosphere and back again, but I am sure that there has to be someone out there who doesn't have it, right?! Check out the giveaway details here.
