I am currently reading "Of Bees and Mist" by Erick Setiawan. Please be advised this is an Advance Reading Copy, and not entirely indicative of what the finished copy will be.
This book is chock full of mysterious symbolic elements that could confuse the heck out of you, so to choose one that entices without throwing you into a cauldron of confusion is difficult. I also am not too far into the book and I don't believe in skipping ahead for fear of spoilers.

"He took her to golden fields of lilies, and on a broad plain of grass, listened to bald nuns uluate with the wolves. From these jaunts, Meridia learned that they lived in the only part of the world where snow fell but never chilled, where the sun blazed with tropical intensity but never scorched."
